But Lisa Shiffren doesn’t let that stop her from answering the age old question of why a man and a woman fall in love – it’s a Communist plot!

I don’t know how Barak Obama’s parents met.

An understandable lapse of knowledge. It’s extremely difficult to find a biography of this obscure American politician.

Political correctness was invented precisely to prevent the mainstream liberal media from persuing the questions which might arise about how Senator Obama’s mother, from Kansas, came to marry an African graduate student. Love? Sure, why not? But what else was going on around them that made it feasible?

That would be the same thing that made it feasible for my decidedly anti-Communist father to come to this country and meet and marry my mother – a scholarship. That and a normal college social life, which does tend to involve meeting other students at your school. But why look for ordinary explanations when you can instead produce really bizarre ones?

And yet, all of my mixed race, black/white classmates throughout my youth, some of whom I am still in contact with, were the product of very culturally specific unions. They were always the offspring of a white mother, (in my circles, she was usually Jewish, but elsewhere not necessarily) and usually a highly educated black father. And how had these two come together at a time when it was neither natural nor easy for such relationships to flourish? Always through politics. No, not the young Republicans. Usually the Communist Youth League.

Amazingly, I’m the same age as Schiffen (and Obama), also grew up in the New York metropolitan area, and somehow managed to miss all this Communist matchmaking activity. It must be a very culturally specific context indeed. Maybe all the Communist interracial matchmakers operate in one specific borough of New York City. But even though Lisa Schiffen’s childhood experiences, though culturally specific enough not to travel even as far as from New York City to Westchester, are broadly applicable enough to apply as far away as Hawaii. QED: Obama’s mother must be Jewish. Or must be Communist. They’re the same thing anyway, right?

It was, of course, an explicit tactic of the Communist party to stir up discontent among American blacks, with an eye toward using them as the leading edge of the revolution.

The Communists organized cadres of white women to date and marry black men, in order to make them more discontented with their lot, so that black men would rise up and demand their rights. Because men are always unhappier and more discontented the more women are available to them.

No, wait, that doesn’t work. OK, let’s try an alternative.

No, wait, that doesn’t work, either.

I don’t know how interracial marriage was supposed to bring about the revolution, but, clearly, anyone who has interracial sex is furthering a Communist plot. After all, this Rube Goldberg scheme of promoting discontent by encouraging white women to marry black men is ever so much more direct a way for Communists to win support from American blacks than, say, positioning themselves as opposed to Jim Crow.

Incidentally, speaking of really weird theories about interracial dating, I got directed by some other blog to a post at Gene Expression, a blog I’ve been avoiding because it has a reputation, among the blogs I do read, as racist. Some of the posts were OK – there is, for example, a link to the interesting Science Daily article What Men And Women Say And Do In Choosing Romantic Partners Are Two Different Matters, about a study in which men and women apparently proved more alike in their dating preferences than they claimed to be.

But then again, there’s this post.

After YouTubing VH1’s The Pickup Artist (a contest reality show where guys learn how to pick up girls), something struck me about how the bar and nightclub scene so thoroughly devastated the East Asian contestant….

And the guy goes on, from observation of a single non-randomly selected participant on a reality TV show, and that one man’s awkwardness in one particular pick up situation, to derive, not only sweeping generalizations about East Asian men’s supposed inherent romantic ineptitude, but support for his belief that black men will outseduce white men any day. Yes, that’s right. If one single East Asian man is unseductive on one single TV show, it proves, white guys, that black guys are coming to get your women, and they’re going to win.

What can I say to that? Only that it’s time for this cartoon. And with that, I’m off to bed.
